Making and archiving feminist zines otherwise is a symposium, workshop and archive project. It explores how we can create and share knowledge through critical feminist, de/anti-colonial and queer zines.

The international symposium will be held online on October 22 and 23, 2026.

The zine workshop will be held in-person on October 24, 2026.

The archive is open for submissions.

Making and archiving feminist zines otherwise is part of an ongoing collaboration between Ash Watson, Laura Rodriguez Castro and Samantha Trayhurn. We are the team behind AKE zine, a collaborative zine and workshop series inspired by feminist writing on affect, knowledge and embodiment. We are also the Editors of a forthcoming book on feminist zine-making in research and education. You can read some of our scholarly writing here.
